30 X 30 Capsule Wardrobe Challenge | Week 1 outfits

Updated: Feb 12, 2023

(This post contains affiliate links that I make a small commission from. They come at absolutely no cost to you, they just support keeping this blog going! Thank you for shopping my links!)

We made it through week 1! Let's recap the outfits I wore and what pieces I used!

Day 1 of 30

On day one I wore this oversized jumpsuit from Three Bird Nest, its in an XL (VERY oversized, obviously, considering I am a 3x/22 in general). I paired it with my oversized cardigan from Pink Lily, as well as my golden goose knock off shoes from Walmart, and some colorful earrings. Everything that I can link will be linked here, and I also include as many alternatives as I can!

Day 2 of 30

Wearing these Judy Blue Jeans, they are tummy control and so good! Make sure you size down one, so these are a 20! This top is really old and from Target, I tried to link something similar as well as for the jewelry and sandals. Overall this is such an easy look most of us can put together from things in our wardrobe!

Day 3 of 30

You can really tell I was going for comfort this first week! Joggers and one of my favorite graphic tees! This exact one is from Chic Soul, but I have linked an alternative for you as well! I elevated the look just a little with my leopard bandana tied around my head.

Day 4 of 30

These jeans have caused quite the commotion on my instagram! One lady even felt the need to DM me telling me they look like rags! Like lady please, its called fashion - look it up! These are almost direct dupes for the Free People jeans that aren't available to a lot of us because of size. I don't know if they are still available, but check this link to find out. They were paired with this comfy pull over from Walmart in a size 3x as well as the converse platform hightop dupes I found at Target.

Day 5 of 30

Grabbed the Judy blues again, they really are some of my most versatile jeans. I paired them with a brown v neck bodysuit from Old Navy, size 3x - these bodysuits are long torso friendly, plus they are nice and thick! They really feel like great quality. Draped over is the one scout jacket from Free People, size XL (but I could easily do a L or even a M!)

Golden goose dupes again and my blue light glasses. Shop this look here.

Day 6 of 30

This top is from Three Bird Nest, I believe they still have it in the grey, its an XL and is so fun, oversized, and WARM! Paired with, you guessed it, the Judy blue jeans - I really need to branch out more in the upcoming weeks, and hightops! I also used my bandana I wore the other day again in my hair.

Day 7 of 30

Wrapping up week one, and I am having so much fun! But I am realizing that Im gravitating towards certain items and need to give more items a fair chance! Today I grabbed the black jeans - true to size, 22, and the wren tee from Three Bird Nest in an XL! This shirt is HUGE! I think it would be oversized on up to a 26/28! Paired with the high tops and a couple of my favorite necklaces.

BONUS outfit!

I got sent this amazing workout set from Shop Vitality and I wanted to make sure it got a feature! I have a really hard time finding workout gear that not only fits my body, but isn't see through, and that I can actually work out in. This set is for more low impact working out, it was perfect for my morning yoga, and our evening walks. I LOVE the material too - super soft, very stretchy, no pinching, rolling, or any of that other mess!

You can check it out here if you're in the market.

RECAP:

All in all I think week one was a success! It was easier knowing I only had certain things I could grab out of my wardrobe. I do think I need to designate a space to store them all together, so I am working on a place in my closet for just that! Can't wait to see you next week!

I bought the black jeans and love them! They were too long for my short legs, but it was easy taking a bit off the bottom. They are really comfy, especially considering they fit me more like mid rise. I have been exclusively wearing high waisted or super high waisted to tuck in my b belly. But these fit comfortably and I'm no longer ashamed of the shape of my body. It's like the least interesting thing about me anyways 😉
